The story begins when Mark arrives in Pikeville, Kentucky, to investigate the case of bank robberies. Mark was raised in a poor family. He has worked hard to achieve this position and is married to a beautiful woman, Kathy (Sophie Lowe). He is living an ideal life that everyone dreams of, but things changed when he came to Pikeville.

People of Pikeville used to work in mines. Since mines were shut down, they have been involved in the wrong businesses. Our story's main character, Susan (Emilia Clarke), is also involved in them. Susan is a divorced woman and has two kids. She lives with her ex-husband (Johnny Knoxville) under the same roof, but not together. Her ex-husband is a drug dealer, and she is a drug addict. Susan had tried to get out of this town but failed to start a new life. Now she is stuck that it is impossible to start a clean life. When Mark was investigating the case, it led him to Susan. This was Mark's first case as an FBI officer. Mark wanted to solve this case anyhow, Mark gave Susan a hope, promised to give her a new life and money. So Susan became his informant, then their love affair started. Susan was madly in love with him. She was dreaming of being his wife. On the other hand, Mark was just using her to solve the case. She risked her life for him. In the end, the movie takes an awful turn. You can easily predict it if you pay attention to narrating.

'Above Suspicion' is based on true life events, so it doesn't have to be good but real. Emilia Clarke did an excellent job. I really liked the way she narrated the story. Her behavior, her accent, she fits in the local Pikeville character. If you're a fan of Emilia Clarke, then you must watch this crime drama.
